Kathy Barfield, 75, of Hamburg, died Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mrs. Barfield was born September 6, 1950 and has been a lifelong resident of Hamburg and was a member of Martinville Baptist Church. Mrs. Barfield was a caring in-home sitter and had previously worked for Rapid Die Moulding Speaker factory. She enjoyed cooking, family get-togethers, painting, shopping, couponing, was known to have a green thumb and could grow just about anything in her garden. She loved being around her family and spending as much time with them as she could.
She is preceded in death by a son, Michael Bilbo in 2007; a grandson, Wesley Lyn Bilbo in 2011; her parents, Wesley and Elizabeth Martin Walters; four brothers, Billy Walters, Sammie Walters, Lonnie Walters and Ronnie Walters and a sister, Elaine Carter.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jimmy J. Barfield; two sons, Jeff Bilbo and his wife, Cassa, and Jimbo Barfield and his wife, Amy; a sister, Treasa Pilgrim and her husband, Tommy, all of Hamburg; two brothers, John Wesley Walters and his wife, Rita, of Fountain Hill and Thomas Walters and his wife, Sharon, of Hamburg; six grandchildren, Whitney Bilbo, Nick Bilbo, Jack Bilbo, Anna Barfield, Jimmy Barfield and Chyanna Crouch; six great-grandchildren, Avery, Bryson, Isabella, Jaley, Michael and Savannah and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Martinville Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Elton officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Nick Bilbo, Jack Bilbo, Briar Jackson, Jason Kelley, Zack Walters and Cody Walters. Honorary pallbearers are Jon Barfield and Chris Walters. Visitation will be 9:30-10 a.m., Saturday at the church.
