Kathryn Gail Beard Sivils

Kathryn Gail Beard Sivils, 70, of Wilmot, died Sunday, April 2, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. Mrs. Sivils was a native of Oak Grove, Louisiana, a former resident of Eudora for many years, and a resident of Wilmot for the past 24 years. A 1970 graduate of Bonita High School, she worked as a Bookkeeper for Ward Flying Service for many years and the Eudora Garment Factory for over 15 years.  Mrs. Sivils attended the Baptist School of Nursing and received her diploma as a Registered Nurse and worked as a Director of Nursing at many long-term care facilities, including Lake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center. She was a member of the Omega Baptist Church in Eudora. Mrs. Sivils didn’t mind doing the laundry and had a wonderful sense of humor about it. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, John Sivils in 2022; her parents, Earl and Mary Catherine Brower Beard, and two brothers, Barry Scott Beard and Billy Beard.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry Sivils of Wilmot; a daughter, Tieche McCoy of Scott; a sister, Cindy Deshazo of Wilmot; three brothers, Joe Beard of Portland, Johnny Beard of Fargo, North Dakota, and Steve Beard and wife, Joanna, of Oak Grove, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Shelby Mackenna Sivils, Caitlin Riley Archer and husband, Matt, and Lucas Chase McCoy; a great-grandchild, Delilah Rose Archer and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2023, at the Portland Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Selby and Bro. Mark Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Mayo, Thomas Mayo, Jacob Elkins, Colby Beard, Joshua Beard and Lamar Frisby. Memorials may be made to the Portland Cemetery c/o Marsha Vestal, 100 Highway 160 E., Portland, AR 71663. 

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
