Karen “Kay” Kidwell Evans, 76, of Crossett, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 10, 2025. Kay was born November 16, 1948 in Monroe, Louisiana, arriving just five minutes after her twin sister, Kitty. Growing up in Wilmot, Kitty and Kay were inseparable, sharing that unbreakable twin bond. It was the foundation of a life defined by deep, enduring relationships. Kay built her own beautiful family in Dumas, raising her two daughters. Her adventures included many joyful years in Crossett and Texas and finally a cherished return to Crossett these last four years. Kay will be remembered for her kindness, her contagious smile, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She is now reunited in Heaven with her loved ones who went before her, rejoicing in everlasting peace.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J.T. Kidwell, Jr. and Camille Kidwell Wallace, two beautiful and amazing souls who undoubtedly have welcomed her with open arms.
Her love lives on as she is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Dalton Dritscher and her husband, Kevin, of Prosper, Texas and Jody Dalton Newman and her husband, Ray, of Crossett; her twin sister, Kathryn “Kitty” Barrett; six incredible grandchildren, TJ, Kirsten, Alison, Tyler, Tanner, and Trey – who were the light of her eyes; six precious great-grandchildren, Jay, Gavin, Josh Jr., Emma, Elijah, and Hayden – who brought her endless joy; two nieces, Amy Barrett Carpenter and Ashley Tumlison Shelley and a host of beloved cousins, friends, and extended family who she loved dearly.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lisa Mayo officiating.
We invite you to join us in honoring Kay’s life with a visitation before the funeral service 1:30 - 2 p.m., where we can gather to share stories, laughter and tears in her memory.
