Julian Estelle, 81, of Hamburg, died Monday, August 23, 2021, in Hamburg. Mr. Estelle was a native of Ashley County, a lifelong resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg, and a 1958 graduate of Hamburg High School. He worked for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation for 17 years and was the proud owner and operator of Estelle Farm Equipment for over 50 years. Mr. Estelle was a Deacon and a member of the Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed cattle farming and was a former President of the Ashley County Cattleman’s Association.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Lee Willard Estelle in 2002 and his parents, Cloy and Thelma Johnson Estelle.
He is survived by his daughter, Penny Corder and husband, Eddie, of Hamburg; his son, Robert Estelle and wife, Carolyn, of Lacey; his sister, Peggy Gifford of Hamburg; a special friend, Lexie Rice Bozeman of Hamburg; two grandchildren, Lance and Maci and two-great-grandchildren, Jayden & Jackson.
Funeral services are 3 p.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Boseman and Bro. Hurley Ashcraft officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers are Daniel Rice, Bob Rush, Doug Neal, Mike Kelley, Richard Weatherly and Jayden Estelle. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Meeks, Johnny Seach, Charles “Bull” Wells, Paul Carr, John Richardson and Dr. Luis Garcia. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the church.
