Judy McCaig Jones

Judy McCaig Jones, 79, of Hamburg, died Monday, December 8, 2025 at Audrey's Special Place.  Mrs. Jones was born July 8, 1946 in Lake Village, was a resident of Hamburg since 1983 and a former resident of Portland. After she graduated from Portland High School in 1964, she continued her education and received her Bachelors in Education degree from Ouachita Baptist University and her Masters of Education degree from the University of Arkansas. Mrs. Jones was a public school teacher until she retired in 1995 and after her retirement, she went to work at Wal-Mart and retired from there after 24 years. She was an active, devoted and faithful member of the Portland Baptist Church, where she was a Vacation Bible School Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed helping with Mission Friends. Mrs. Jones was known for being a hard worker, she enjoyed reading, taking care of her cats but most of all she loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hazel Lochala McCaig; a sister, Katy Karlon McCaig Harvey and a niece, Elizabeth Harvey.

She is survived by her son, Scott Jones and his wife, Millie; her two grandchildren, Hunter Jones and Kyra Jones all of Hamburg; a niece, Jennifer Harvey Peltz of Portland Oregon and a host of other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel. Memorials may be made to P.A.W.S., Friends of the Hamburg Pound, 1322 N. Cherry Street, Hamburg, AR 71646.
