Judy Spruell, 72, of Fountain Hill, died Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Baptist Health Medical Center Drew County Hospital in Monticello. Mrs. Spruell was a native of Monticello and a lifelong resident of Fountain Hill. She worked as a seamstress for many years at the Hamburg Shirt Factory until its closing and then at S.E.A.M.S. in Hamburg until she retired. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Spruell enjoyed crocheting, hunting and especially fishing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family and most of all her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Hayden in 1974; a grandson, Anthony Dilcher; her father, David Hagood; her mother, Lillie Maxine Hill Hagood Lankford and her step-father, Winford Lankford Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Clifford Spruell; a daughter, Theresa Brazier and husband, Rick, all of Fountain Hill; a son, Bryan Hayden and wife, Karen, of Monticello, a sister, Linda Riley Spruell and husband, Ricky; a brother, David Hagood, all of Fountain Hill; six grandchildren, Christin Brazier and J.J. Pamplin, Amanda Brazier, Harleigh Livingston and husband, Daniel, Baileah Hayden, Stevi Hayden and Savanna Burns and husband, Matt; two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Kameron; a niece, Sarah Hagood and a nephew, Kevin Riley.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church in the Coleman Community outside of Monticello with Bro. Gary Carter and Bro. Scott Ricks officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Nicholas “Nonnie” Grigg, Kevin Riley, Kane Riley, Shannon Hill, Jim Hudson and Hardy Sawyer. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Lynn, Paul Tucker, Orby Shaver, Joey Shaver, Rick Brazier, Ricky Spruell and Chance Allison.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
