John F. Dumas, Sr. Obituary

John F. Dumas, Sr., 79, of Hamburg, died Monday, July 26, 2021, in Kenner, Louisiana.  Mr. Dumas was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg.  A 1960 graduate of Hamburg High School, he proudly served in the Arkansas Army Reserves.  He worked for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation Paper Mill and retired after over 40 years of service.  Mr. Dumas was a dedicated church worker, member, and Deacon at Southside Baptist Church.  He enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening in his spare time, but above all things, he loved his family and was a wonderful Paw-Paw to his grandchildren and great-grandson.

He is preceded in death by a son, Kevin Bradley Dumas and his parents, Gordon & Gladys Selby and J.A. Dumas.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna Kelley Dumas of Hamburg; two sons, John Dumas, Jr. and wife, Missy, of Crossett and Stephen Dumas and wife, Lori, of Hamburg; four brothers, Jimmy Dumas and wife, Nita, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Charlie Dumas and wife, Sherry, of Crossett, Paul Selby and wife, Rachel, of White Hall and Keith Selby and wife, Debbie, of Conway; a sister, Nancy Barnes of Marietta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, William Osteen, Sydney Dumas, Jenna Dumas, Kristen Osteen, Shawna Osteen, Hannah Dumas and Kelsey Dumas; a great-grandson, Luke O’Fallon and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10 a.m, Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Southside Baptist Church with Bro. David Newberry officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Glen Lawson, Bill Kelley, Brian Mills, Tony Kelley, Patrick Kelley and Brandon Kelley. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Crain, W.M. Wigley and Keith Carter.  Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, PO Box 446, Hamburg, AR  71646.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
