Joe Ray Stanley, 71, of Hamburg, died Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Nightingale at Stonegate Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mr. Stanley was born April 3, 1955 in Jennersville, Pennsylvania, was a resident of Hamburg for the past 13 years and a former resident of Catawba, North Carolina. He was a Mechanic, working with small motor repair, for many years. Mr. Stanley was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray Wilbur Stanley and Helen Doris Neaves Asbury; a brother, Tommy Stanley; a sister, Janet Gemes and a grandson, Tanner Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Barlow Stanley of Crossett; a son, Brandon Stanley and his wife, Debra, of Huntersville, North Carolina; a daughter, Tonya Jones and her husband, Anthony, of Hamburg; a brother, Jerry Wade Stanley of North Carolina; four sisters, Maggie Ray Layne, Mable Coleen Lafferty and Nellie Mae Stanley all of North Carolina and Linda Stanley Hernandez of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Jesse Sivils, Savannah Sivils and Leah Stanley and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Trey Emory officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers are Anthony Jones, Jesse Sivils, Butch Hill, Jim Wells, Todd Kelley and Lee Nimmer.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
