Jerry Wayne Elliott

Jerry Wayne Elliott, 81, of Hamburg, died Monday, August 25, 2025, at his residence. Mr. Elliott was born December 2, 1943 in Sulligent, Alabama and was a lifelong resident of Hamburg. After he graduated in 1961 from Hamburg High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  Known for being a hard worker, Mr. Elliott was an Over The Road Truck Driver for many years, having retired in 2017. He was a member of Eden Baptist Church. Mr. Elliott built motors for race cars, enjoyed boating in his speed boat and fishing.

He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Hudson; his parents, William and Amy Lou Walden Elliott; a sister, Virginia Mann and a brother-in-law, J.W. Mann.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Booth Elliott; a son, William Glen Elliott; a daughter, Denise Hudson and her husband, Jim, all of Hamburg; three grandchildren, Michael Elliott, Katie Bolin and her husband, Dax, Stephanie White and her husband, Wade, and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
