James Wesley Stanley, 66, of Wilmar, died Friday, October 30, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Stanley was a native of Fountain Hill and a resident of the Greenhill Community for 40 years. He was a 1973 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. Mr. Stanley worked for the Mississippi River Transmission Gas Company for 28 years, having retired in 2003, and then worked with his son for Greenhill Lawn Service. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Stanley enjoyed hunting, sports, and watching his grandchildren play sports and play in the band.
He is preceded in death by his father, TJ Stanley in 2005 and a brother, Kenneth Stanley in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karon Lynn Holland Stanley of Wilmar; two sons, Clint Stanley and wife, Christina, of Warren and Neal Stanley and wife, Malia, of Monticello; his mother, Clellis Ellis Stanley; two brothers, Larry Stanley and wife, Linda, and Danny Stanley and wife, Sherry, all of Fountain Hill; five grandchildren, Scott Thomas Bratton, Lauren Stanley and Madeline Stanley all of Monticello, Ethan Stanley and Michaela Stanley both of Warren; his sisters-in-law, Reba Holland of Greenbrier and Shelia Stanley of Crossett; his extended family, Travis and Eleanor Stephenson of Wilmar, Tim Stephenson of Little Rock, Nat and Traci Grubbs of Wilmar, Meredith and Phil McKelvey of Little Rock and Emily Grubbs of Starkville, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Graveside services are 2 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2020, in the Eden Cemetery with Bro. Ray Hearron and Bro. Edgar Spencer officiating. Pallbearers are Tim Chapman, Greg Harper, Jason Chapman, Antonio Mejia, Tony Streeter and Mark Stanley. Honorary pallbearers are Timmy Craig, Danny Amos, William Moffatt, Larry Darr, Nat Grubbs, Tim Stephenson and Jason Ellington. Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 1032 Old Warren Road, Monticello, AR 71655, or the Eden Cemetery Association, c/o Mr. Jerry Stanley, 4026 HWY 133 N., Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 1:30 – 2 p.m., Sunday at the cemetery.
