James Randall Rial, 71, of Hamburg, died Saturday, January 15, 2022. Mr. Rial was a native of Monticello, a resident of Hamburg for the past 20 years, and a former resident of Crossett. He attended Hamburg High School, served in the Arkansas National Guard and worked at the Georgia-Pacific Stud Mill for 38 years. He attended Gardner Baptist Church, was the Captain of the Ashley County Rescue Unit, a former member of the Hamburg Fire Department and a former member of A.B.A.T.E. (Arkansas Bikers Aiming Towards Education). Mr. Rial loved Jeeps and riding motorcycles.
He is preceded in death by a son, Jade Clark Rial in 1995; his parents, Ted and Vera Dye Rial; his paternal grandparents, Roy and Gracie Rial; his maternal grandmother, Janie Burnett, and his maternal grandfather, Loren Dye.
He is survived by a son, Kevin Rial and wife, Renee, of Crossett; a brother, Danny Rial and wife, Vicky, of Hamburg; two sisters, Brenda Rial Houston and husband, Jim, of Mayflower and Shirley Rial Naron of Hamburg; two grandsons, Tyler Hursey and wife, Courtney, and Jordan Rial; a great-grandson, Liam Hursey all of Crossett and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Sassafras Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tim Hollis, Stephen Dumas, Davie Holland, Guy Hughes, Jerry Breedlove, and Johnny Kilcrease. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ashley County Rescue Unit. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
Visitation will be 9:30 – 10 a.m., Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
