James Earl Gosnell, 61, of Hamburg, died Thursday, June 24, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Gosnell was a native of Blytheville, a resident of Hamburg since 2007, and a former resident of Portland for most of his life. He graduated in 1978 from St. Charles High School and in 1979 from the Ricebelt Vocational-Technical School in Dewitt. Mr. Gosnell served faithfully and honorably in the United States Navy for four years, having been discharged from active service in 1985. After his service to his country, he worked as an electrician for Dale Ross Drilling. His love for his family only rivaled his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time on the White River and was an avid deer hunter. His ability to make friends easily led to having many friends, especially his “Bluff Buddies” hunting friends, who will miss him very much.
He is preceded in death by twin grandchildren, Willow and Memphis; his parents, O.V. and Carole Gilreath Gosnell; his father-in-law, Dale Ross and his lifelong friend, Steven Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Toni Ross Gosnell of Hamburg; three children, Jimmi Lynn James and husband, Jason, of Dumas, Ross Gosnell of Hamburg and Jodi Gosnell and fiance, Glen Adams, of Parkdale; his brother, George Gosnell and wife, Dee, of Florida; two sisters, Vicky Robertson of Texas and Pam Gosnell of Cabot; his mother-in-law, Sylvia Ross of Dumas; his sister-in-law, Felicia Ross of Monticello and three grandchildren, Jaylea, Tristan and Josie.
Graveside services are 6 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2021 in the Crocketts Bluff Cemetery with Bro. Mark Burris officiating. Memorials may be made to the Crocketts Bluff Cemetery, PO Box 56, Crocketts Bluff, AR 72038.
