James David Elton, 69, of Rison, died Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Elton was born October 26, 1955 in Little Rock, was a resident of Rison for the past year and a former resident of Camden for several years. He honorably served his country in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic. Mr. Elton followed Jesus and attended Victory Church in Camden. He was a very generous person and would give the shirt off his own back to those in need. Mr. Elton's good heart led him to help the homeless and feed any hungry person or child.
He is preceded in death by his step-father, James H. Martin and his grandparents, Abraham Greene and Willie Arlene Holdcraft Elton.
He is survived by a daughter, Nadine Elton of Germany; his mother, Daphine Elton Martin of Camden; five brothers, Robert Martin and wife, Thelma, of Plantersville, Texas, James Martin, Jr. of Sheridan, Jerry Martin and wife, Christi, of Elko, Nevada, Ricky Dale Martin and wife, Dana, of Monticello and Lee Ray Martin and wife, India, of Sheridan; four sisters, Janice Martin Simpson of Shepherd, Texas, Deborah Woodfin of Banks, Barbara Denson and husband, Joe, of Camden and Linda Morgan of Warren; a uncle, Francis Elton and wife, Connie, of Little Rock and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services are 2 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Pinewood Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Stephen Willis officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Michael McManus, Billy Woodfin, Alex Woodfin, Scott Bentz, James E. Martin and Donnie Sullivan IV. Visitation will be 1:30 - 2 p.m., Saturday at the cemetery.
