Herman Carrol Jackson Obituary

Herman Carrol Jackson, 86, of Fountain Hill, died Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Nightingale at Stonegate Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. Mr. Jackson was born February 6, 1939 in Portland, was a resident of Fountain Hill for the past two years and a former resident of Crossett for many years. He was a retired machine operator for Georgia-Pacific and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Dermott. Mr. Jackson enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking but most of all he loved to eat and talk to people.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Jackson Thompson and her husband, James Thompson; his parents, Coy Daniel and Ella Mae Rice Jackson and a brother, Ralph Jackson.

He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Jackson Jackson and her husband, B.J., of Monticello; a brother, Byron Dale Jackson and his wife, Judy, of Crossett; a sister, Opal Davis of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Dabney Stell and her husband, Wade, Bert Jackson and his wife, Jessica, all of Monticello, Tyler Thompson and his wife, Mallori, and Hunter Thompson and his wife, Punky, all of Hamburg; six great-grandchildren, Noah Jackson, Naomi Jackson, Macey Stell, Olivia Stell, Hudson Stell and Hadley James Thompson as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Zachary Jackson and Bro. Allen Jackson officiating. A private burial will be in the Trafalgar Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steve Brooks, Tim Smith, Michael Davis, Coy Davis, Don Gwin, Johnny Buck Towels and Scott Stephenson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trafalgar Cemetery Association, 859 Ashley Road 105, Montrose, AR 71658, the Pauline Missionary Baptist Church Food Pantry, PO Box 299, Monticello, AR 71657 or to the Helping Hands Food Pantry, c/o Brad Davis, 605 Ashley Road 485, Hamburg, AR 71646. 

Visitation will be 9:30 -10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
