Obituary

Helen Higginbotham Foote, 95, of Hamburg, died Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett.  Mrs. Foote was a native of Lake Village and resident of Hamburg for most of her life.  After graduating from Hamburg High School, she attended the Baptist Nursing School in Little Rock and received her degree as a Registered Nurse.  Following her servant's heart, she became a lifelong caretaker and worked as a Floor Nurse/Surgical Nurse at the Ashley County Medical Center, formerly the Crossett Hospital, the Hamburg School District School Nurse, and a Home Health Nurse for the Arkansas Department of Health. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge and was hostess in her home for many Farmer’s Bank parties and other social events.  Known as Baba to many, she loved her family and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Louie Gene Foote in 1996; a son, Henry Eugene Foote in 1974; her parents, J.C. & Eunice Griswould Higginbotham; two sisters, Lorece Ozment Rainey and Billie Jean Bussell; a brother, Donald Higginbotham; a sister-in-law, Muriel Bolls Suares and a special friend, Linda Harville.
