Gwendolyn Myers Sawyer

Gwendolyn Myers Sawyer, 71, of Monticello, died Thursday, February 4, 2021.  Mrs. Sawyer was a native of Wilmot and a resident of Monticello since 1967.  She graduated from Wilmot High School in 1967 and from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1970 with a degree in Business Education.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Wilmot United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her father, James B. Myers.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Walton Edward “Ed” Sawyer, Sr.; a son, Walton Edward Sawyer, Jr. all of Monticello; a daughter, Melissa Nicole Sawyer of Little Rock; her mother, Merle McKee Myers of Hamburg; a sister, Dorothy Iona Myers of Jacksonville and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
