Greg Tyson

Greg Tyson, 67, of Banks, was born on his mother’s birthday, July 9, 1957 and died on May 1, 2025 in McKinney, Texas. Greg was a member of Crossroad Missionary Baptist Church and was a 1975 graduate of Crossett High School. Through his life, he was praised as an avid hunter and outdoorsman, hence the nickname, “Indian.” Greg had an utmost respect for nature and all of its surroundings. He was always a good shot and a better storyteller. He believed in working hard to which he was an esteemed tube welder, and telling the truth.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, George Chester Tyson and Blanche Marie Alexander Tyson; three brothers, Robert Alexander, George Chester Tyson, Sr., and James Alexander “Alec” Tyson; a sister, Gloria Malpass; four nephews, Matthew Tyson Blackmon, Matthew Tyson, Mark Tyson, and Blake Malpass; and his four-legged best friend and squirrel dog,“RJ,” and fur baby, “Moose.”

Greg is survived by his partner in life, Didi Domenico of Allen, Texas; the loves of his life - his three children, Jimmieanne Tyson Lochala and husband, Jesse, of Crossett; Jennifer Marie Tyson and Jon Wesley Tyson and wife, Carly, all of Hamburg; eight grandchildren, Ali Branch, Maddax Lackey, Abbi Branch Mondragon and Aaron, Wesley Clines, Tyson Lane, Paxon Hargis, Rowan Tyson, and Macyn Tyson, who he adored; his Texas grandbabies, Kayla, Chelsea, Bryleigh, Caydence, Journey, Beckett, Jase and Birdie; his best friend and confidante, Tommy “T-Ray” Nichols; a brother, Kenneth “Tysie” Tyson and Karen of Jonesboro; two sisters, Geraldine “Nimmie” Blackmon, Johnnie “Jobie” Tyson Johnston and Phillip, of Clinton, and his four-legged friend “Remington.”

He will be missed by many, especially his three children and eight grandchildren, who would like to invite you to join them in a celebration of their dad’s life at a later date.
