Glynn F. Riels, 83, of Fountain Hill, died Friday, February 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at the Baptist Health Medical Center-Drew County in Monticello. Mr. Riels was born September 6, 1941 in the Extra Community south of Hamburg and has been a resident of Fountain Hill for most of his life. He worked at the Georgia-Pacific Papermill, having retired after 32 years of devoted service. Mr. Riels was a member and Deacon of the Eden Baptist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Hamburg Masonic Lodge #469, a Shriner, a member of the Klassy Kruzers Car Club and was a Volunteer Fireman for the Fountain Hill Fire Department. Mr. Riels enjoyed attending car shows and was the world's greatest Husband, Dad and Poppie and loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd M. and Annie Mae Dew Riels.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Hollis Riels; a daughter, Alicia Kunert and husband, Joel, of Heber Springs; two sons, Alan Riels and wife, Lisa, of Hamburg and Andy Riels and wife, Susan, of Crossett; six grandchildren, Allison Bussmann and husband, Adam, Will Cooper and wife, Lauren, Drs. A.J. Riels and wife, Madelyn, Kayla Outlaw and husband, Dylan, Drew Riels and Lucas Kunert; eight great-grandchildren, Henry Bussmann, George Bussmann, Kash Outlaw, Rosemary Riels, Ophelia Riels, Morgan Cooper, Madisyn Kunert and Layla Kunert.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Hamburg with Bro. Robin Allen and Bro. Keith Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery with full Masonic honors. Pallbearers are grandsons, Dr. A.J. Riels, Drew Riels, Will Cooper, Adam Bussmann, Lucas Kunert and Ronnie Adams. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Klassy Kruzers Car Club. Memorials may be made to the Zion Cemetery Association, c/o Rita Pogue, 211 Ashley Road 467, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
