Georgie Mae Brown, 78, of Hamburg, died Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Somerset Senior Living Center in Crossett. Mrs. Brown was a native of Monticello, a lifelong resident of Hamburg and she attended Hamburg High School. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown enjoyed gardening, reading, and singing. She loved raising her kids and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Harold K. Brown in 2009; a son, Hubert Brown; her parents, George and Alma Mae Smith Kelley and three brothers, Larry Kelley, Bill Kelley, and Lonnie Faye Kelley.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie Mae McLemore and husband, Jeffrey Allen, of Fordyce; a son, Herman Kenneth Brown and wife, Debra, of Hamburg; five brothers, Raymond Kelley and wife, Brenda, of Eureka Springs, Wesley Kelley of Lynn, Chester Kelley and wife, Peggy, of Crossett, Steve Kelley and wife, Lisa, of Monticello and Henry Kelley and wife, Tammy, of Crossett; two sisters, Hazel Kelley of Jacksonville, Florida and Beatrice Marcussen and husband, Gaylon, of Rogers; three grandchildren, Crystal Wake, Secret Hardie, both of Aurora, Colorado and Andrew Kenneth Brown of Hamburg and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Allen Lemley officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Henry Kelley, Chester Kelley, Wesley Kelley, John Paul Kelley, Jonathan Kelley, and Billy Noble, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Kelley and Steve Kelley.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
