Frank Taylor Obituary

Frank Taylor, 96, of Hamburg, died Thursday, January 27, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  Mr. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Hamburg and 1944 graduate of Hamburg High School. He attended Drones Business College in Little Rock and he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, having served during World War II.  He worked as a Lion Oil Distributor for many years before owning his own business, Taylor Oil, for over 35 years.  Mr. Taylor was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Hamburg Masonic Lodge #465 for over 75 years, and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Taylor was a physical fitness activist, avid jogger, weightlifter and walker until his 90th birthday. In high school, he was Senior Class President, Yearbook Editor, starting tailback and safety for the football team and would also play the tuba at halftime. In 10th grade, he started the basketball team which he played on, coached and drove to games.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and bird watching, but above all, God, Country and Family.  His family was always his number one priority and he loved spending every waking moment of his retirement with his grandson, Nicholas.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Sallye “Pearl” Peterson Taylor in 2015; his parents, M.F. “Dobbin” and Elizabeth Woods Taylor and a sister, Frances Elizabeth Taylor Wharton in 2017.

He is survived by a son, Mitchell Taylor and wife, Erin, of Hamburg; two daughters, Lynda Taylor of Searcy and McKenzie Taylor Olsen of Los Angeles, California; eight grandchildren, Jake Olsen, Courtney Taylor Olsen, Kaela Taylor, Nicholas Taylor, Trent Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen and Elizabeth Olsen; a great-granddaughter, Scarlett Elizabeth; two nephews, Richard Wharton of El Dorado and Jim Wharton of St. Louis, Missouri.
