Frances Jerrilyn Bridges, 83, of Crossett, died Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mrs. Bridges was born May 3, 1942 in Hamburg, was a resident of Crossett for the past few years and a former resident of Greenwood, Mississippi and Monroe, Louisiana for several years. She was a 1960 graduate of Hamburg High School and attended Greenwood Business School in Greenwood, Mississippi. Mrs. Bridges worked in many different departments for the Bell Telephone Company in Greenwood, Mississippi and Monroe, Louisiana, having retired after 27 years. During her retirement years, she would volunteer with Hospice and was a Foster Grandparent with the Hamburg School District. Mrs. Bridges was a former member of the Extra United Methodist Church, where she played the piano, taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School. She was also a former member of the Presbyterian Church of Crossett for six years having written the church's history and helped with the Food Bank program. Mrs. Bridges enjoyed needlepoint, playing the piano, reading, ceramics and attending concerts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Edward and Martha Adeline Knight "Addie" Bridges and a brother, Walden Jean Bridges.
She is survived by a sister, Karen Bridges Pennington of Hamburg; a brother, L. Dewayne Bridges and his wife, Nancy, of Bastrop, Louisiana; two nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2025, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Faulk officiating. Burial will be in the Extra Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rusty Crum, Randy Crum, Curtis Crum, David Farmer, Thomas Halley and Fred Hogan. Memorials may be made to the Extra Cemetery, c/o Dorothy Farmer, 1303 N. Cherry Street, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 9:30-10 a.m., Monday in the funeral home chapel.
