Evelyn Ilene Kelley Hollis, 76, of Hamburg, died Monday, August 2, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Hollis was a native of Ashley County, a resident of Hamburg for the past three years and a former resident of Fountain Hill for over 30 years. She was a Customer Service Clerk at Walmart, a member of the Zion United Methodist Church and she attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Other than indulging in her favorite hobby, shopping, Mrs. Hollis enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, fishing and cooking. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Harold James Hollis in 2013; a daughter, Rose Marie Taylor in January of this year; three grandsons, David Matthew Taylor, Staff Sergeant James A. Maum and Dustin Lane Dye; her parents, Jesse and Doris Nelson Kelley and eight brothers, Leonard Kelley, Everett Eugene Kelley, Bobbie Kelley, Ronnie Kelley, Leroy Kelley, Jack Kelley, Nelson Bartley Kelley and Michael Kelley.
She is survived by her son, John Dye of Crossett; a daughter, Charlotte Margolis and husband, Michael, of LaVergne, Tennessee; three brothers, Doyle Kelley and wife, Frances, of Hamburg, Henry Kelley and wife, Karen, of Valdosta, Georgia; and Clarence Kelley of Hamburg; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in the Zion Cemetery with Bro. Richard West officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Colton Dye, Joshua Maum, Dillon Felkin, Michael Margolis and John Graef.
Visitation will be from 9:45-10 a.m. at the cemetery.
