Edward "Dale" Lauhon

Edward "Dale" Lauhon, 85, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at his residence. Mr. Lauhon was born December 16, 1940 in Monticello, was a resident of the Promise Land Community outside of Hamburg for the past 20 years and was formerly a longtime resident of Hamburg. Following his graduation from Hamburg High School in 1959, he earned his instrument rating and began his career as an agricultural pilot. Mr. Lauhon also worked as an owner-operator truck driver for Vernon Sawyer, Inc. before driving for J. Lauhon Logging. He was a faithful member of Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, farming, hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Harry L. Lauhon and Mary Daugherty Lauhon; his mother and step-father, Dorothy Stell Fox and E.H. Fox; a brother, Philip Lauhon; a step-son, Mark Eugene Jones and two step-brothers, Charles Daugherty and Lavelle Daugherty.

He is survived by his wife of 18 1/2 years, Martha Kelley Lauhon; a daughter, Martha Jo Collins; two sons, Jackie Lauhon and his wife, Angie, and Ronnie Lauhon and his wife, Kim; a brother, Gerald Lauhon and his wife, Betty, all of Hamburg; a step-brother, David Daugherty and his wife, Cathy; a sister-in-law, Hilda Lauhon of Lake Village; a brother-in-law, Billy F. Kelley of Hamburg; eight grandchildren, Zack Lauhon and his wife, Taylor, Anna Henderson and her husband, Austin, Mary Lauhon and her fiancé, Layeton Bennett, Derek Lauhon and his wife, Leslie, Trenna Barker and her husband, Dillon, Cheyenne Clavet and her husband, Garrett, Courtney Smithey and her husband, Jamey, and Clayton Collins; 17 great-grandchildren, Laney Jo, Tylan, Creed, Barrett, Mia, Ezra, Asa, Max, Zoe, Zade, Tillman, Theo, Toliver, Braxton, Corban, Colten and Daisy.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jared Brooks, Norval Lee Cecil, Rodney Chapman, Jeff Foster, Andy Vail, Jim Wells, Ronnie Coulter, Lane Culp and Billy Don Cecil.  Memorials may be made to the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 765 Ashley Road 70, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to Hospice Home Care, 990 Highway 425 North, Monticello, AR 71655. 

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
