Drake Andrew Hudson, 27, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Drake was born October 2, 1997 in El Dorado, a lifelong resident of Hamburg and a 2016 graduate of Hamburg High School. He was a member of Eden Baptist Church. Drake enjoyed making knives, being outdoors, and archery. He loved music and could often be found listening to music that he felt understood him and gave him peace. Drake had a lifelong struggle with mental illness that very few people could fully understand. He spent the better part of a decade fighting to be here. His family hopes that this can open the eyes of others to the hidden struggles you may never know about. It is important to notice the signs, when to seek help and most of all, to give grace to anyone struggling with their mental health.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Patty Griffith; his paternal grandmothers, Brenda Hudson and Jennifer Hudson and his great-grandmother, Geneva King.
He is survived by his parents, Bryan and Amy Griffith Hudson; two sisters, Ashley Hudson Pierce and husband, Andrew, and Allie Hudson Dodson and husband, William, all of Hamburg; a half-sister, Crystal Loya of Tucson, Arizona; his grandfather, Billy Hudson of Hamburg; two nieces, Wrenly Pierce and Marsi Pierce; a nephew, Gibson Pierce; his best friend, Brandon Adams of Hamburg and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Eden Baptist Church with Bro. J.W. Dobbins officiating.
