Dorothy Farmer Ford
November 17, 1919 ~ August 4, 2022 (age 102) 102 Years Old
Dorothy Farmer Ford, 102, died Thursday, August 4, 2022, at her daughter’s residence in Little Rock. Mrs. Ford was a native of Ashley County, a resident of Little Rock for the past ten years, and was a resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for most of her life. She demonstrated daily that she was a homemaker extraordinaire by growing a garden, helping her husband in the fields, canning vegetables, and making quilts. When she was blessed with her grandchildren, she was always there to give a hand in helping raise them. She was a member of Judson Missionary Baptist Church, made friends with everyone she met, and genuinely loved people.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Otto Ford in 1996; a daughter, JoAnn Roberts, in March of this year; two sons, Wayne Ivy Ford and Lloyd Ford; a daughter-in-law, Roxie Ford; a granddaughter, Anita Kay Hense; her parents, German Willard and Mary Victoria Whitlock Farmer; a sister, Mildred Farmer Akin and three brothers, Willie Ed Farmer, Herman Dean Farmer, and Olen M. Farmer.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Ford of Little Rock; a son, Charles Ford and wife, Joyce, of Hamburg; five grandchildren, Rita, Dewayne, Patricia, Tammy and Lisa; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 2 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2022, in the Judson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Boykin officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:30-2 p.m. Sunday at the cemetery.
