Dolly Sammons

Dolly Sammons, 84, of Bastrop, Louisiana, died Thursday, January 2, 2020.  Mrs. Sammons was a native of Bonita, Louisiana, a resident of Bastrop, Louisiana for the past 11 years and a former resident of Houston, Texas for many years.  She was a homemaker and the most dedicated, loving grandmother and wife. She had a heart of gold and such a selfless soul.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney A. Sammons in 2016; two sons, John & Stewart Sammons and her parents, Thomas & Jennever Madison Buffington.

She is survived by five grandchildren, Kevin Sammons of New Mexico, Brian Sammons of Georgetown, Texas, Jason Sammons of League City, Texas, Darcy Sammons of New Braunfels, Texas and Shane Sammons of Houston, Texas; a brother, Willie Earl Buffington of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Verna Sue Ferrell of Bastrop, Louisiana and Allie Rainer of Monroe, Louisiana; 14 great-grandchildren and a several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Hamburg Cemetery with Rev. John Skinner officiating.
