Diane Reeves, 78, of Eudora, died Monday, July 15, 2024, at Audry’s Special Home in Hamburg. Mrs. Reeves was born in Rosedale, Mississippi, was a resident of Audry’s Special Home for the past two years and a former resident of Eudora for most of her life. She graduated from Eudora High School in 1963 and attended Arkansas A&M, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Mrs. Reeves owned and operated Big Star in Eudora for over 30 years and after it was lost in a fire, they built the Exxon Family Stop that they continued to operate for another 20 years. She was a Christian and enjoyed gardening and would spend hours in her sunroom watching vehicles and boats go by headed to Grand Lake. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies.
She is preceded in death by her parents, B.J. and Violet Foreman Joseph.
She is survived by her husband of 60 ½ years, Wilbur Reeves of Eudora; two daughters, Stacey McCrory and husband, Robert Earl, of Crossett and Shanna Weatherly and husband, Clinton, of Hamburg; a brother, Aubrey Joseph of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Doris Brown and husband, Buddy, of Kilbourne, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Cody Weatherly and wife, Whitney, Shelby Miller and husband, Matthew, all of Monticello and Matthew McCrory of Smackover; five great-grandchildren, Vallorie Weatherly, Mallorie Weatherly, Iris Miller, Maddox Miller and Zoey Kippen.
The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Tamara Russell and Jessica Russell, with Hospice Home Care in Monticello, Michaela Irons, Trish, James, Brandy, Ashley and Melissa at Audry’s Special Home for all of the love and care they gave to Mrs. Reeves over the past few years.
Graveside services are 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora with Bro. Lee Weatherly officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Earl McCrory, Clinton Weatherly Cody Weatherly, Matthew McCrory, and Matthew Miller.
