Debra “Penny” Moffatt, 64, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Moffatt was a native of Monticello, a lifelong resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg and a 1975 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. She was a member of Egypt Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active with the Ladies Auxilary. Mrs. Moffatt was a loving homemaker to her family and was always ready to lend a “homemaker hand” to whoever needed one. She enjoyed quilting, wagon riding, and anything to do with horses. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Carol Moffatt; her parents, Clinton “Son” & Betty “Mama Jean” Craig Slaughter; a brother, Jimmy Don Slaughter and her father and mother-in-law, Harbison “Hob” and Nancy Moffatt.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank Moffatt; two sons, Frank Matthew Moffatt and wife, Becky, and Chad Moffatt and wife, Joni, all of Hamburg; a sister, Carolyn Jeffers of Shiloh; five grandchildren, Tyler, Jakob, Brody, Payton and Hadlee, and four step-grandchildren, Chloe, Bodhi, Gillian and Thayer.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Rose officiating. Burial will be in Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Paul Jeffers, Clint Jeffers, Brian Slaughter, Robert Moffatt, Josh Moffatt, Dakota Martin and Jordan Meeks. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Stanley, J.R. Jeffers, Hardy Sawyer and Wesley Blankenship. Memorials may be made to CARTI Foundation, PO Box 55011, Little Rock, AR 72215.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
