Deborah Hope Shaver, 54, of Crossett, died Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Deborah was born November 20, 1971 in Crossett, was a resident of Crossett for the past two years and a former resident of Hamburg for most of her life. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1990 and was the Owner-Operator and EMT at SouthArk EMS for several years, where she was known as a strong, dependable presence and a true friend to many. Deborah continued her education by receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and her Master's Degree in Human Services from Columbia Southern University. She worked as the Safety Manager at Saber Power until August 2025. Deborah attended Trinity Free Will Baptist Church and lived her faith in the way she cared for others. She loved being a devoted homemaker, cherishing the years she spent raising her children and later becoming a proud and loving “Nonny” to her grandchildren. Her passion for family never faded—it was the center of her world. Deborah was a firecracker, with a loud and bubbly personality that filled any room. She could be your fiercest advocate or your toughest adversary, but above all, she was genuine, loyal, and unforgettable.
She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Oliver Wendell Barfield, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Shannon Shaver of Crossett; three daughters, Laura Cynova and her husband, Nathan, of Springfield, Hope Shaver and Chloe Higginbotham and her husband, Gary Keith, all of Crossett; a brother, Jon Barfield and a sister, Betty Gantt, both of Hamburg and seven grandchildren, Peyton Cynova, Canton Cynova, Tate Jones, Blaike Jones, Grant Mencer, Zach Higginbotham and Ellie Higginbotham.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clayton Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Wood, James Morton, Brooks Jones, Conley Williams, Scotty Mire, and Shawn Bates. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Grimet, Mark Griever, Josh Bliss, E.G. Morgan and Alan Rayo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope at Home, PO Box 1001, Crossett, AR 71635.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
