Deborah Charlene Edwards, 65, of Monticello, died Monday, July 12, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Edwards was a native of Phoenix, Arizona, a former resident of Alton, Missouri, and a resident of Monticello for several years. She attended Alton High School, and in her earlier years, she worked as a caregiver. Mrs. Edwards enjoyed horses, especially Pepper, coloring and working puzzles. She loved her family and kept in touch with them on the phone and would spend as much time as possible with her twin sister. Mrs. Edwards greatly appreciated her caregivers, Cindy, Shirley, Melissa, Candace and Trinity.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William P. & Nina Elle Olbrieht Edwards; a sister, Joyce Edwards and two nieces, Dana Carver and Stephanie Slaughter.
She is survived by a son, Jason Slaughter of Monroe, Louisiana; four daughters, Danielle Durham and husband, Donald, of Dermott, Jackie McMahon and husband, Will, of Montana, Jennifer Johnson and Nickie Jo Johnson, both of Missouri; three sisters, her twin, Donna West and husband, Mike, of Wilmar, Christine James of Kingsville, Missouri and Lois Carter of Shreveport, Louisiana; three brothers, Buzz Edwards of Fountain Hill, Ray Edwards and wife, Linda, of Elkins and Ronald Edwards of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
