Danny Layne Amos, a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025 at the age of 70 at Memorial Hermann hospital in Houston, Texas surrounded by his family and close friends. Mr. Amos was born September 13, 1954 in Hamburg, to Billy Lane and Margaret Ann Holmes Amos. He grew up with a strong sense of family, faith and hard work. He lived in Beaumont for the past six years and was a resident of Fountain Hill for most of his life. Mr. Amos owned and operated Danny Amos Concrete Construction for many years and when he wasn’t working, you could find him on the river fishing or in the woods hunting. Mr. Amos married the love of his life, Helen Carpenter, on February 12, 1996 and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and an unwavering commitment to their families and each other. Helen’s devotion and phenomenal care during his illness was a testament to their enduring bond. Mr. Amos leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and deep family roots.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Lane and Margaret Ann Holmes Amos and a brother, Ricky Amos.
He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 29 years, Helen Carpenter Amos; his children, Shane Amos (Katie) and Crystal Amos; bonus children, Christy Franks (Jeff), Larry Hasty Jr (Melissa) and Geoffrey Hasty (Jessica); his brother and sisters, Micky Amos (Norma Jean), Polly Clark (Johnny Ray), and Sam Swan (Norman Lee); his grandchildren, Gavin Amos, Zan Amos, Brody Smith, and Blakely Smith; his bonus grandchildren, Tyler Otwell (Courtney), MK Dumond (Tristian), Brandon Franks (Emily), Bradley Franks (Courtney), Bailey Rose (Klay), Justine Hasty, Dylan Hasty, Dustin Hasty, Jake Hasty, and Gracie Hasty; his bonus great-grandchildren, Brynn Otwell, Rafe Otwell, Emery Dumond, Emma Rose, Levi Rose, and Riley Rose and numerous nephews.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Zion Cemetery with Bro. J.W. Dobbins officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Hardy Sawyer, Micky Gwin, Zan Amos, Gavin Amos, Zach King, Jeff Franks, Dale Adams, William Moffatt, Mark Williams, Vernon Fisher, Bruce Towe, and Kenneth Knight.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
