Dan Allen Allison, 66, of Hamburg, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. Mr. Allison was a native of Ashley County and a resident of Hamburg until 1992, when he moved to Branson, Missouri. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1975 and then became the owner and operator of Allison and Sons Construction Company. While living in Branson, Missouri for 12 years, he helped build the Mel Tillis Theater, Charley Pride Theater, The Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa and Convention Center, the Tanger Outlet Mall, and he built Razorback Road in Fayetteville. In 2006, he started working on the pipeline, and he and his wife traveled all over the country until they moved back to Hamburg in 2021. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 101. Mr. Allison was a gun collector enthusiast, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising show quarter horses. He loved to cook, especially for his family and friends, and had probably fed half of Hamburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Allison and June Farmer Witcher.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lisa Douglas Allison of Hamburg; two sons, Bill Allison and wife, Darla, of Bolivar, Missouri, and Clint Allison of Springfield, Missouri and seven grandchildren, Alyssa Allison, Ryan Allison, Chance Allison, Harlow Allison, Scout Allison, Gavin Allison, and Memphis Allison.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Whiteley officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692.
Visitation will be after the memorial service in the funeral home chapel.
