Cynthia Lynn Skender Brantley Obituary

Cynthia Lynn Skender Brantley, 63, of Rogers, died Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.  Mrs. Brantley was born in Lake Village, a resident of Rogers for the past 18 years and a former resident of Crossett for many years.  She attended Crossett High School and was a member of the Ashley County Baptist Church.  Through her compassion and devotion of being an advocate and caregiver for disabled children, she later became a teacher and taught disabled and developmentally challenged children at the Sunshine School and Development Center in Rogers. She lit up any room she walked into, was the life of the party, loved to dance and was lovingly called “Firecracker”.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making everyone laugh. Mrs. Brantley lived for her children and grandchildren and would travel to wherever they were and encouraged them in what ever they participated in.

She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Charles Skender in 2023; her grandparents, Frank and Opal Skender and Eugene and Rea Johnson.

She is survived by her significant other of nine years, Wade Korn of Rogers; a daughter, Candice Cochran of Benton; a son, Dylan Brantley of Rogers; her mother, Peggy Johnson Skender of Crossett; a brother, Gary Skender of Hamburg and two grandchildren, Bradyn Hendrix and Parker Hendrix.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robin Allen officiating.  Burial will be in the Parkdale Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Dylan Brantley, Bradyn Hendrix, Derek Skender, Gary Skender and Wade Korn.  Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, PO Box 2222, Little Rock, AR  72203.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
