Crystal Leigh Mathews, 47, of Hamburg, died Friday, September 19, 2025 at her residence. Miss Mathews was born March 30, 1978 in Dermott, a former resident of Portland for many years and a resident of Hamburg for the past several years. She enjoyed activities at the Ashley County Sheltered Workshop, watching DVD's, listening to music with her brother-in-law, painting, drawing, writing her Christmas list, going to church and playing with her babies and stuffed animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Nola Owens Mathews.
She is survived by her brother, Henry Mathews and his wife, Liz, of Crossett; her sister, Sandra Kelley and her husband, Ronnie "Peanut", of Hamburg; three nieces, Felicia White and her husband, Ervin, of Hamburg, Camille Law and her husband, Michael, of Berryville and Amanda Weatherly and her husband, Dustan, of Texas; her nephew, Carl Mathews of Crossett, eight great-nieces, three great-nephews, two great-great nieces and one great-great-nephew.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2025 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jared Conatser officiating. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jim Toon, Lee Fred Brown, Bennie Moseby, James "Bud" Henderson, Robert Kelley and Jacob Gulledge. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Miller, Christian White, Isaiah Garcia, Carl Mathews and Dustan Weatherly. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 400 W. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
