Christy Lynn Murphy

Christy Lynn Murphy, 50, of Hamburg, died Monday, August 10, 2020, at her residence.  Christy was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg and a 1988 graduate of Hamburg High School.  She worked at the Ashley County Medical Center for many years and was a member of Egypt Missionary Baptist Church.  Christy enjoyed rodeos, riding horses, and was a member of the Hamburg Riding Club. She loved her family and watching her niece, Cami, run barrels.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Billy Faye and Glenda Crawford Murphy.

Christy is survived by her daughter, Haley Moyer and husband, Adam; her sister, Carol Ann Murphy and husband, Roy; her grandson, Caden Moyer and a niece, Cami Murphy, all of Hamburg.

Graveside services are 10 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 2020, in the Dailey Cemetery with Bro. Farrell Breshears officiating. Pallbearers are Brad Gray, Shane Smith, Eddie Wayne Burch, Hardy Sawyer, Wade Pennington, Chuck Kinnaird, Charley Sawyer, Keith Cunningham, and David Cunningham.  Memorials may be made to the Villalobos Rescue Center, PO Box 771127, New Orleans, LA  70177.  

Visitation will be 9:45 – 10 a.m., Thursday at the cemetery.
