Charles V. Donaldson, 81, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Mr. Donaldson was a native of Ashley County and a resident of Hamburg for the past 49 years. He worked for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation for 33 years, having retired in 1993, and was a member of Egypt Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Donaldson was a musician and loved playing guitar and singing.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Wallace in 2013; his parents, Clarence V. & Ola Mae Smith Donaldson; two brothers, Clarence Eugene Donaldson and Virgil Lee Donaldson and four sisters, Kathrain M. Rice-Forrest, Nancy Carolyn Outlaw, Deborah Ann Marter, and Kathy Phelps.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Moses Donaldson of Hamburg; a daughter, Cindy Rice and husband, Tod, of Crossett; a son, Kevin Donaldson of Hamburg; two brothers, Glenn Donaldson and Doyle Donaldson, both of Crossett; two sisters, Alice Smith of Crossett and Sylvia Oliver of Hamburg; six grandchildren, Klent Wallace, Shea Wallace, Devin Donaldson, Gage Rice and wife, Hannah, Hailey Donaldson and Becky Donaldson; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be 2 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2022, in the Egypt Cemetery with Bro. Keith Rose officiating. Memorials may be made to the Egypt Cemetery Association, c/o John Laing, 272 Ashley Road 454, Hamburg, AR 71646.
Visitation will be 1:30 p.m – 2 p.m., Thursday at the cemetery.
