Charles “Sonny” Booth, 87, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Star City. Mr. Booth was a native of Camden and a resident of Hamburg since 1973. He was a truck driver for over 35 years and a member of the Ladelle Baptist Church. Mr. Booth was a hard worker and not much of a “hobby man” although he did enjoy camping. He loved being with his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Sue Booth in 2019; a great-granddaughter, ElleKate Carter; his parents, Perry & Verdell Ozment Booth; a sister, Beatrice Booth Johnson and a brother, Cecil Booth.
He is survived by his son, David Booth and wife, LaWanda, of Hamburg; two daughters, Anita Booth of Hamburg and Debbie Carter and husband, Gary, of Tyro; a brother, Perry Booth, Jr. of El Dorado; two sisters, Jean Elliott and husband, Jerry, of Hamburg and Ouida Wolfe and husband, Winston, of Hot Springs; five grandsons, Charlie Booth and wife, Karla, Blake Harville, Michael Booth and wife, Mande, Josh Carter and wife, Samantha and Justin Carter and wife, Courtney; 12 great-grandchildren, Rayleigh Booth, Reagan Booth, Addie Carter, Maddie Carter, Daniel Harville, Jackson Carter, Colt Carter, Gunner Booth, Cullen Booth, Cooper Carter, Karli Carter and Cali Carter.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the Ladelle Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Cater and Bro. Reuel Cruce officiating. Burial will be in the Ladelle Cemetery. Pallbearers are Charlie Booth, Michael Booth, Josh Carter, Justin Carter, Blake Harville and Glen Elliott. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Hayden, Billy Mitchell and Mike McManus. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
