Charles L. Harville, 82, of Dayton, Ohio, died Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio. Mr. Harville was born and raised in Hamburg and has been a resident of Dayton, Ohio for the past seven years. He was a 1958 graduate of Hamburg High School and served in the United States Army and the Arkansas Army Reserves for almost two years. Mr. Harville retired as a Sales Manager for McKee Baking Company in 2005. He was of the Baptist faith, and when he was growing up, he attended the First Baptist Church of Hamburg. His heart was always in Arkansas and he was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. As a Miniature enthusiast, he constructed miniatures and attended various Miniature events and shows.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Uriah and Ellie Jackson Harville; a sister, Joyce Ann Lowry; a granddaughter, Amy Ker and a nephew, Kevin Grantham.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Suzan Williams Harville of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Sandra Land and husband, Tim, of Batesville and Tabitha Lemaster and husband, Darryl, of Dayton, Ohio; three sons, Steve Harville of Los Angeles, California; Terry Harville and wife, Cynthia Balzer, of Bloomington, Indiana and Keith Harville and wife, Lupe, of Nashville, Tennessee; a brother, Bobby Harville and wife, Tracy, of Hamburg; a sister, Betty Grantham and husband, Rudy, of Lake Village; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Kelly, Tristan, Tyler and Isaiah and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2023, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Land and Tristan Harville officiating. A private burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
