Catherine Annette Carter Obituary

Catherine Annette Carter, 80, of Crossett, died Saturday, March 15, 2025, at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. Mrs. Carter was born June 23, 1944 in England, was a 1962 graduate of England High School, a former resident of Pine Bluff and resident of Crossett for the past 53 years. She started her career in the public school system as a school secretary and progressed into an Alternative School Teacher, working for the Crossett School District for over 25 years. Mrs. Carter was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church. She was a good cook, enjoyed working in her flower gardens, mowing her yard and always had her dog, Baby-Girl, by her side. Mrs. Carter loved spending time with her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Ray and Minnie Catherine Holland Langrell; a sister, Peggy Langrell; two brothers, Bruce Langrell and Mike Langrell and a sister-in-law, Becky Langrell.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Marion Carter, Jr.; a daughter, Nicole Carter and wife, Paige, all of Crossett; two sons, Jimmy Phillips and wife, Renee, of Fordyce and Trey Carter and Julie Gifford of Mountain View; two brothers, Jim Langrell of Sheridan and Johnny Langrell of Pine Bluff; a sister-in-law, Wanda Langrell of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Tristan Phillips, Brandon Phillips, Wyatt Carter, Madison Carter, Talan Carter and Kensley Cross and five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Abel, Montana, Beckett and Tatum.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in the Magnolia Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Griffith officiating.  Burial will be in the Carter Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Tristan Phillips, Brandon Phillips, Wyatt Carter, Talan Carter, Slade Swan and Danny Lephiew.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Hamburg Police Department.  Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205-1569. 

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
