Carole Lynne Atchison, 83, of Crossett, died Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Nightingale at Stonegate Health and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Atchison worked as a Data Entry Specialist for Lockheed Martin until her retirement in 2008. During her career, she contributed to early space programs and was part of the team present when the first space shuttle landed on the moon, and standing on the tarmac to witness the first space shuttle landing. As a member of Southside Baptist Church, Mrs. Atchison was deeply involved in Operation Christmas Child. Her strong Christian faith guided her daily life—she read her Bible faithfully and found joy in Christian activities, from puzzles to listening to uplifting music. Mrs. Atchison had a generous heart, especially when it came to supporting others. She contributed to numerous charitable organizations, including the ASPCA, PBS, and Mercy Ships. Her love for animals and her desire to help others were evident in her giving spirit. In her free time, Mrs. Atchison enjoyed golfing, traveling, taking cruises, and going on spontaneous weekend trips. She loved the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to explore and experience life. Above all, Mrs. Atchison deeply loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew her.
