Carlis Brooks, 72, of Hamburg, died Sunday, June 2, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Brooks was born in Lake Village, raised in Portland and had been a resident of Hamburg since 1971. He was a member of North Main Baptist Church. Mr. Brooks was a Road Foreman and worked for Deep South Construction and R. Thompson, Inc. for 45 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Brooks loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Lane Austin Rice; his parents, Claude and Marjorie Worthy Brooks; two brothers, Gene Brooks and Huey Brooks and three sisters, Rita Faye Brooks, Neicie Newberry and Sharon Qualls.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patsy Cox Brooks of Hamburg; two sons, Benji Brooks and wife, Cynthia, of Hamburg and Monty Brooks and wife, Keri, of Cotter; three daughters, Candi Fleming and husband, Clint, of Hamburg, Crissy Parrott and husband, Josh, of Crossett and Cindy Holloway of Camden; two sisters, Dee Record of Henderson, Tennessee and Monica Smith of Hamburg; twelve grandchildren, Julie Morgan, Destiny Brooks, Kelsey Rice, Caleb Gregorcyk, Aiden Gregorcyk, Noah Brooks, Drew Fleming, Kyle Fleming, Austin Fleming, Brooklyn Cendejas, Paris Holloway and Bodie Parrott; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in the Judson Cemetery with Bro. Bodie Spicer officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Drew Fleming, Kyle Fleming, Austin Fleming, Bodie Parrott, Melvin Cendejas, Mark Brian Wallace and Aiden Gregorcyk.
Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
