Bruce Edward "Eddie" Meeks, Sr., 83, of Crossett, died Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in Lowell, Arkansas. Mr. Meeks was born May 6, 1942 in Ashley County, was a resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for most of his life and a 1959 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. Mr. Meeks worked as a diesel mechanic, a farmer and an equipment operator. He could fix anything and enjoyed crappie fishing, restoring antique tractors and reading his bible. He loved to spend time with his wife and family.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Renee Meeks Bolin, a granddaughter, Tiffany Renee Bolin; his parents, Joe and Macel Campbell Meeks; three brothers, Bobby Joe Meeks, Larry K. Meeks and Richard "Dickie" Meeks.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Helen Bishop Meeks of Hamburg; three sons, Jeff Meeks and his wife, Sam, Bruce Meeks, Jr. and his wife, Pamela, all of Hamburg and Joe Meeks and his wife, Kristi, of Monticello; two step-sons, Mike Richard and his wife, Lauren, of Hamburg and Shane Moffett and his wife, Callie, of Smackover; two step-daughters, Kristi Ozanich and her husband, Andy, of Collierville, Tennessee and Theresa Goodwin and her husband, Robby, of Bastrop, Louisiana; a brother, Joe Allen Meeks of Fuguay, North Carolina; a sister, Sheliah Meeks Crain of Hamburg; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; his lifelong friend, Jerry Daugherty and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2025, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Boseman and Bro. Keith Smith officiating. A graveside service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in El Dorado. Pallbearers are Dakota Meeks, Ryan Meeks, Jordan Meeks, Jonah Richard, Cody Strickland and Nathan Meeks. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Hudson, Greg Walker, Steve Bolin, Jarred Walters, Willie Wiscarver, Jerry Daugherty and Jose Mondragon. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
