Bruce Vail, 70, of Hamburg, died Saturday, August 16, 2025 at his residence. Bruce was born August 21, 1954 in Logansport, Indiana and was a resident of Hamburg for the past 63 years. A Christian by faith and a mechanic by trade, Bruce was a man who valued hard work, simple joys and time spent with those he loved. He found peace under the shade of his favorite tree, visiting with friends, listening to wind chimes and watching the birds he faithfully fed. Bruce will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Geneva Pope Vail.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gena Vail; his son, Bruce A. "BJ" Vail, Jr.; his grandson, Bralan Vail, all of Hamburg; his daughter, Robin Nall; two granddaughters, Sidney Pickens and Amber Pickens all of Bastrop, Louisiana; his brother, Buddy (James) Vail of Monticello; two sisters, Rosemary Young of Crossett and Darlene King of Hamburg; a large and loving extended family of in-laws, whom he cared for as his own and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m, Monday, August 18, 2025 in the Flat Creek Cemetery with Sister Chyrl Slocum and Scott Young officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Frost, Carlton Savage, Derrick White, Zack Young, Karson Maxwell, Bradley McDonald, Bobby Martin, Tommy Clark, Herman Mormon, Johnny Pierce, Hank Rice, Johnny Martin and Curtis Tolliver.
