Bobby Ray Withers

Bobby Ray Withers, 89, of North Little Rock, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Mr. Withers was born August 27, 1935 in Fountain Hill, was a resident of North Little Rock for the past ten years, a resident of Fountain Hill for most of his life and a 1954 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. Mr. Withers was a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church. He worked for the Mississippi River Transmission Corporation as a Supervisor until he retired in 1989, after 33 years of dedicated service. Mr. Withers was a hard worker, an expert furniture maker and an experienced carpenter who was known for being able to fix anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing with his wife and watching sports. Mr. Withers was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and spending time with them.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years, Louise Pruitt Withers in 2018; two daughters, Pamela Kaye Withers in 1955 and Karen Sue Beavers in 2020; his parents, George Dewey and Verla Melissa Bryan Withers; four brothers, Billy Glenn Withers, Gaston Withers, Oliver Withers and Jimmy Dale Withers; five sisters, Hester Chandler, Christine Hays, Earline Alldread, Dorothy "Dot" Abel and Norma Frances Withers.

He is survived by a son, Bryan Withers of Conway; two daughters, Sandra Withers Arnold and husband, Lawrence, and Glynda Withers, all of North Little Rock; five grandchildren, John Paul Huggins, Taylor Withers, Allison Becker, Rebecca Ledbetter and Melanie Bradshaw; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews that he was close to.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aaron Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bryan Withers, John Paul Huggins, Taylor Withers, Chandler Odom, Steve Withers and Doug Jackson. Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence Arnold, Dennis Beavers, Gary Alldread, Robert Alldread and Dewayne Alldread. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116. 

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
