Bobby Joe Kelley, 90, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Mr. Kelley was born April 9, 1935, in the Promise Land Community outside of Hamburg and was a lifelong resident of Hamburg. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from July 13, 1954, until July 12, 1962, where he was stationed aboard the USS Harry E. Hubbard. After his military service, he married Patricia Ann Adams of Hamburg. He was a retired truck driver for Scott Oil and worked part time at Ashley Gas & Tackle. He served his community for 23 years as a Fireman for the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department from 1962 until 1985. Mr. Kelley was a quiet man and a friend to all. He recently received the Lord as his savior and is now in His presence.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Sallie Brooks Kelley; a brother, Willie Claude Kelley; a sister, Mary Ann White, and two sisters-in-law, Martha Kelley and Betty Maxwell.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia Ann Adams Kelley of Hamburg; two nephews, whom he helped raise, Timothy Sivils of Hamburg and Shane Sivils of Crossett; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Sivils and Bobby Sivils; three nephews, Chris Kelley, Chuck White, and Robbie Sivils, and five nieces, Karla Maxwell, Teresa Maxwell, Tambra Dickey, Jana Evans and Melinda Long.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 16, 2025 in the Jones-Hartshorn Chapel with Bro. Sanders Brooks and Keith Long officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Kelley, Chuck White, Billy McDonald, Billy Frank Kelley, Sam Evans, and Johnny Pierce.
