Billie Kay Martin, 76, of Crossett, died Thursday November 6, 2025, at her residence. Mrs. Martin was born December 17, 1948 in Carlsbad, New Mexico and was a resident of Crossett for 55 years. She was a 1966 graduate of Carlsbad High School. Mrs. Martin was a devoted member of the Meridian Baptist Church, where she played the organ and piano and served as the Treasurer and Secretary. She worked for many years for the Crossett School District as the Maintenance and Transportation Secretary and as a bus driver, having retired in 2005. In addition, she lovingly cared for the Hickory Grove Cemetery for many years. Mrs. Martin was known for her independence and strong work ethic. She especially enjoyed working in her yard and driving her tractor. Above all, she deeply loved her grandchildren and followed them everywhere to various events.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Dale Martin in 1997; her parents, William Paul and Fredda Kathleen Dillard Crumpacker and a brother, Jimmy Wayne Crumpacker.
She is survived by her son, Brian Martin and his wife, Christy, of Hamburg; three daughters, Shana Edwards and her husband, Bubba, of Fountain Hill, Paula Martin of Crossett and Tanya Tippen and her husband, Justin, of Hamburg; a brother, Joe Paul Crumpacker and his wife, Judy, of Itasca, Texas and five grandchildren, Madison Edwards, Hunter Edwards, Lainey Tippen, Jalie Tippen and Trapper Tippen.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2025, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brian Martin, Bubba Edwards, Hunter Edwards, Trapper Tippen, Justin Tippen and Rob Johnson. Honorary pallbearer is Joe Paul Crumpacker. Memorials may be made to the Hickory Grove Cemetery Association, PO Box 1003, Crossett, AR 71635.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
