Barbara Jean Wilkerson Strickland

Barbara Jean Wilkerson Strickland, 77, of Hamburg, was born December 23, 1944.  She died December 24, 2021, at her daughter’s residence in Conway. Mrs. Strickland was a native of Crossett, a resident of Hamburg for many years and she attended Hamburg High School. She graduated in 1985 from Forest Echoes Vocational School, in Crossett, as a Licensed Practical Nurse. After graduation, Mrs. Strickland worked at the Hamburg Leisure Lodge and Dermott City Nursing Home. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, reading books and loved keeping her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Strickland in 1998; a son, Rodney Strickland in 2019; a daughter, Paula Reeves in 2018; two grandchildren, Stetson Strickland and Victor Strickland and her parents Tommy and Ruby Jean Davis Wilkerson.

She is survived by a son, Steve Strickland and wife, Janice, of Fayetteville; four daughters, Brenda Strickland and husband, Keith McConnell, Lauren Strickland and Karis Strickland all of Conway and Alisha Gann and husband, Dustin, of Mayflower; a sister, Shirley Smith and husband, Buddy, of Hamburg; a brother, Paul Wilkerson and wife, Melba, of Hamburg; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and countless other family members and loved ones.

Graveside services are 2 p.m., Friday, December 31, 2021, in the Hamburg Cemetery with Bro. Joel Meredith officiating.
