Austoline Croswell, 77, of Hamburg, died Thursday, March 10, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Croswell was a native of Ashley County, a lifelong resident of Hamburg, and a 1963 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. She was an active member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a youth sponsor for over 25 years, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Mrs. Croswell was a homemaker, enjoyed bowling and in her younger days, had played basketball and softball. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Lynn Croswell in 2010; her parents, G.T. “Tommy” and Viola Owens Cunningham; a sister, Climmie Palumbo and three brothers, Morris Cunningham, Donald Cunningham, and C.B. Cunningham.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Ulmer and husband, Steve, of Chillicothe, Missouri; her son, Michael Croswell; a brother, Robbie Cunningham, both of Hamburg; four sisters, Madie Carpenter, Connie Van Hook and husband, Bill, and Marcile Hill, all of Hamburg, and Pauline McNeice of Crossett; six grandchildren, Christin Warren, Michelle Minnis and husband, Keith, and Kyle Ulmer and wife, Julie, all of Chillicothe, Missouri, John Michael Croswell of Nashville, Tennessee, Greg Croswell and wife, Megan, and Miranda Croswell, all of Hamburg; 11 great-grandchildren, Dilyn, Keyton, Brianna, Isaac, Evelyn, Morganne, Indy, Rohan, Dayten, Brooklynn, and Kaylynn; a special niece, Janice Moffatt; three special sisters-in-law, Charlotte Watt and husband Kenneth, of Lake Village, Sue Gwin and husband, Richard, of Hamburg and Louise Wall and husband, Dickie, of Crossett and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are 3 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Joey Meredith and Bro. Richard West officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rob Greene, Hunter Greene, Sammy Wallace, Todd Hickman, Joel Campbell and Aaron Nelms. Honorary pallbearers are Nancy Campbell, Delores Cook, Bernice Nelms, Addie Nelms, Trisha Jones and Francis Meredith.
