Ashley Shane Meeks Obituary

Ashley Shane Meeks, 48, of Crossett, died Friday, January 15, 2021, in Lonoke County.  Mr. Meeks was a native and was raised in the Milo Community, outside of Hamburg, a resident of Crossett for most of his life and a 1990 graduate of Fountain Hill High School.  Mr. Meeks worked for the Ace Sign Company in Little Rock for the past four years and had formerly worked for Georgia-Pacific Plywood for 15 years. He was a member of the South Main Baptist Church, and in his spare time, he coached baseball and played golf. 

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa Runion Meeks in 1998; a sister, Staci Meeks; his grandparents, Jim and Helen Pierce Meeks, Jessi Roberson and Lucille Pace Roberson Rice; a nephew, Pierce Meeks; his former father-in-law and best friend, Jim Stephenson; his former mother-in-law and father-in-law, Neil & Vaisa Honeck.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Carr Stanley Meeks of Little Rock; two daughters, Zoe Meeks and Allie Meeks both of West Monroe, Louisiana; a son, Taylor Meeks and girlfriend, Taylor Watson, of Collinston, Louisiana; a step-son, Brock Rice of West Monroe, Louisiana; his parents, Randall and Kitty Roberson Meeks of Crossett; three brothers, Pete Meeks and partner, Debra Cross, of Crossett, his twin, Shawn Meeks and wife, Missy, of Sterlington, Louisiana and Blake Meeks and wife, Anell, of Hamburg and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in the Egypt Cemetery with Bro. Keith Boseman officiating. Pallbearers are Zack Meeks, Chase Meeks, Brad Blankenship, Cayden Meeks, Landon Meeks, Braxton Meeks and Preston Meeks. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Williamson, Brad McGhee, Scotty Richardson, Scott Parker, Johnny Richardson, Reagan Rush, Reuben Rush, Matt Roberson, Robert Rush, James Robert Meeks, Kevin Chavis, Lance McGhee, Craig Handly, B.J. Rice, Jordan Rice and David Wilkerson.  Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church, 310 Ashley Road 95, Hamburg, AR 71646. 

Visitation will be 1:45 – 2 p.m. Tuesday at the cemetery.
