Anna Belle Watkins, 97, of Hamburg departed this life on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mrs. Watkins was born August 16, 1926 to John Holloway and Pearl Burks in Gainesville, Georgia and was a resident of Hamburg for the past 34 years. She worked at the Leisure Lodge Nursing Facility in Hamburg. Mrs. Watkins was a devoted and faithful member of the Epistles of God Church of Deliverance, where she served on the motherboard and as a Tuesday Touch bible study teacher.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie James Watkins; a son, Willie Lee Watkins; her parents, John Holloway and Pearl Burks and a sister, Doris Collier.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Flossie Watkins Hollister of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Edna Watkins of Atlanta, Georgia; a son, Donald Watkins of Kansas City, Kansas; two special daughters, Jackie Willis and husband, William, and Vernicia Huggins and husband, Allen, all of Crossett and a host of other family, dear friends and church members.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2024 at the Epistles of God Church of Deliverance with Pastors Ryan and Mona McBride officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lawrence Tucker, Hollis McQuay, Ed Brown, Nathaniel Miller, Lionell Richardson and Allen Huggins.
